Here are the steps to make sure you receive unemployment and SUB for the voluntary layoff that began on November 4.
1) You will need to file an initial claim with unemployment at https://uiclaims.iwd.iowa.gov/UIInitialClaim/. Your claim from earlier in the year will likely no longer be active. File the initial claim on the FIRST WEEK of the layoff, so 11/3-11/9. Your claim starts the week you file the initial claim.
2) The following week, begin filing weekly claims each week you are out. Weekly claim filing is open Sunday through Friday - so the first day to file a weekly claim for the first week out is 11/10. As with the initial claim, if you miss the deadline to file the weekly claim, you will not receive an unemployment payment for the week, and you won't be eligible for SUB. There is no weekly claims filing on Saturdays! Here is a link for the weekly claim filing: https://uiclaims.iwd.iowa.gov/weeklyclaims/
3) You will not receive another green sheet. If you turned in your green sheet for the previous time out, it is already on file with payroll. If you have not yet turned that in, get it to Dani ASAP so that you can receive your SUB. [email protected]
No SUB forms will be required for this round of voluntary layoffs.
